Massage Therapy
Massage therapy has multiple physiological benefits for our body increasing blood flow to tense and fatigued muscles improving muscle tone and creates balance and relaxation increasing sense of wellbeing and compliments your overall care plan perfectly.
The art of soft tissue release can unwind the effects caused by daily stresses and strains that create muscular imbalances of our postural muscles and deep pressure can release tension from the deeper layers of connective tissue called fascia that help protect and move our joints that work to hold our spine up all day.
Chronic muscle tension, aches and pains from old injuries can be a real cause of recurring injuries so massage and the correction of faulty muscle tension plays an important role in your long term outcome and recovery.
Your health coach will discuss with you to see if massage therapy would be beneficial for you and the variety of different techniques available to you.
Onsite Functional Fitness Training
We have a state of the art functional fitness exercise facility at 180 Wellness Centres. But this isn’t your typical gym. Our specialised exercise equipment and protocols take into account the patient’s age, condition, and physical limitation, as well as, technical and motivational levels. Our exercise trainers are skilled and knowledgeable and will help you achieve your therapeutic and/or fitness goals.
Functional Fitness and Functional exercises are designed to strengthen the body to be able to perform real life activities in real life positions and not just lifting a certain amount of weight in an idealised posture created by a gym machine.
Our strengthening programs are designed to correct the postural alterations that are creating inherent weaknesses in the body and are at the cause of recurring injuries and preventing the muscles and joints from healing effectively and properly.
Functional Nutrition
Supplementation is not substitution for real food. But being over fed and under nourished is a big problem for many people.
Inconsistent diet and nutrition means your body isn’t getting the necessary nutrients and building blocks it requires to function properly.
A nutrition plan is key to a healthy mind and body. The wrong diet can kill you but the right diet can heal you. We can show you how to eat well and how to heal well and the tools to stay healthy and how to make the right food choices so you can eat and stay healthy forever.
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN) & Laboratory Testing
Functional Diagnostic Nutrition (FDN) is ideal for those patients who are really struggling to regain their health and where everything else has failed. FDN gives us the tools to investigate a little deeper and more comprehensively in to the more complicated cases.
FDN and uses a sequence of functional laboratory testing to assess and identify any H.I.D.D.E.N internal stressors (Hormone, Immune, Digestion, Detoxification, Energy Production and the Nervous System) that may be contributing to the underlying cause of many common and chronic health complaints, identifying healing opportunities to restore
function and balance to the body to rebuild your vital reserve and your health.
FDN takes a holistic approach by working on everything in a non-specific manner. It looks to remove the causes of ill health upstream in order to restore health and vitality through lifestyle, behavioural and dietary modifications as oppose to just addressing the symptoms downstream by masking them with medications or surgery as you continue to get sicker.
We offer various functional laboratory testing which include:
- Full Blood Work – HDL-LDL, Triglycerides, HAbc1, Insulin, Vitamin D
- Adrenal Stress Profiles – Cortisol, DHEA, Melatonin
- Male and Female Hormone Profile – Testosterone, Oestrogen and Progesterone levels
- Intestinal Permeability
- Metabolic Assessment Profile – Oxidative Stress, Digestive Health and Liver function
- Pathogen Screens – Parasites, Bacterial and Fungal
- Gluten/Coeliac Testing
- Food Sensitivity Testing
- Other labs and tests are available.
Please arrange your consultation with Dr Oliver John to see what tests you may benefit from in regaining your health.
